An Update... finally

I'm finally back into the void that is blogging... After taking the holidays (and more) off from this thing, I actually was getting a few comments from people. So that means someone is actually reading this stuff. I'm inspired, so I figured I'd add a new little note on something I've been reading about lately....

Apparently, what started about 2 years ago is now coming to a head in 2007. That trend is the reuniting of just about every band that broke up ever... Here are a few bands that have reunited over the past year:

-Motley Crue- fairly good sounding from what a friend of mine says, I'll wait til I hear a new album to judge
-The Who- Daltrey/Townshend (I probably misspelled that...) finally have reunited for an actual recorded album... and I own it....but haven't listened to it yet... I'm a bum
-Smashing Pumpkins- only two confirmed original members? Hardly seems like a full-scale reunion, but I'll still buy the album when it comes out.

Now I'm sure everyone can think of more that are escaping my mind. But 2007 looks even more crazy. Here are a few notable bands scheduled to reunite in 2007:

-Rage Against the Machine-

I find it interesting that RAGE is reuniting for a few reasons. First, I heard that the band was offered something like a million dollars just to reunite for one concert like two years ago, and they turned it down. What all of a sudden changed all of their minds? Secondly, what about Audioslave? Audioslave is a great band, and they are just now taking off, separating themselves musically from each members' previous bands. I actually heard that Audioslave was preparing a new album to be released sometime in 2008. I guess that plan is on hold, due to the fact that Tom Morello (guitarist for both RAGE and Audioslave) is also doing an album under is solo project, Nightwatchman. Of course, let me clarify that this RAGE "reunion" is only for one concert, the Coachella Music Festival. But I think that when the band gets back together and realize how great they were as a group, it will be hard to just walk away from eachother again after the show. I for one hope that the one show leads to a full-scale reunion with a new album. But let's not get carried away just yet. I wish I could afford to fly out to California for Coachella, but sadly I'll be missing the RAGE reunion.

-Van Halen-

Yes, VAN HALEN is reuniting with David Lee Roth as vocalist. The band is getting inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame early this year, forcing all members to be on the same stage, including Roth, Sammy Hagar, and Michael Anthony, who was kicked out of Van Halen last year in favor of Wolfgang Van Halen (Eddie's 15 yr old son). That is certainly going to be a sight, and I can't wait to watch. But beyond that, there have been talks (supposedly) between Roth's representatives and the reps for the band in regards to a reunion tour and possible record. If that does happen (which is looking more and more true), it will definitely be the biggest rock tour of 2007. I hope I can get a ticket... I'm sure I'll be blown away by the price too.

-The Police-

This has been confirmed. The original lineup for The Police are reuniting for the grammys (sic)this year. I am a fan of the band (well I have their greatest hits album, which is sufficient), but I probably won't watch this reunion. I hate the grammys. Hopefully the album, if there is one, will be rockin, and not like anything Sting has done since he left the band.

I've also heard whispers about an original Led Zeppelin reunion, and a WHAM! reunion. Neither of which am I at all excited about, so I'm not going to go into deep detail about them. Neither of those are confirmed either.

Just thought everyone would be interested in hearing what could possibly be happening in 2007. Hopefully some of those excited your interests as I am eagerly awaiting most of those bands' releases/shows. I'll try to be more diligent with my updates, but only if you people start leaving some feedback on here. Cuz I'm getting bored only reading my own shit. Deal? (i wanted to write kapeesh... but i don't know how to spell it correctly). Take it easy people... Rock on!
